Contract

  • 2 Temporary Positions Available

  • Position 1: 1-month contract

  • Position 2: 2-month contract

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

  • One position may require flexibility to work Wednesday to Sunday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, depending on operational requirements.

About the Role

We are looking for two reliable and hardworking Cleaners to support housekeeping and hygiene standards within a busy pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and compliant environment across production and office areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the distribution and collection of factory overalls and PPE across the site.

  • Ensure adequate stock levels of overalls, shoe covers, hair nets, beard covers, gloves and other PPE for all production shifts.

  • Monitor stocks of cleaning chemicals, sanitising agents and PPE, liaising with the warehouse on a weekly basis to maintain supplies.

  • Monitor expiry dates of cleaning and sanitising chemicals and report any products approaching expiry.

  • Organise and maintain overall storage cabinets.

  • Collect used overalls from Production and Quality Control for laundry.

  • Provide housekeeping cover during periods of staff absence.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the site, including:

    • Offices

    • Toilets

    • Changing rooms

    • Factory production areas

    • Production corridors

    • External areas

    • Porches

    • Purified water plant

    • Other designated areas

  • Dispose of Production and Quality Control waste into the correct skips and waste containers.

  • Support the Engineering, Warehouse and other departments with cleaning activities as directed by the Line Manager.

  • Complete all cleaning documentation accurately within designated logbooks.

  • Use approved cleaning chemicals in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturer instructions and COSHH regulations.

  • Maintain cleaning equipment and accessories in good working condition.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.

  • Monitor waste skips and containers and notify the Line Manager when they are approaching capacity.

  • Provide cleaning support within production areas when production cleaners are absent, following the relevant cleaning procedures and instructions.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience.

  • Reliable with excellent attention to detail.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good organisational skills.

  • Ability to follow written procedures and complete documentation accurately.

  • Understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working within a pharmaceutical, manufacturing, food production or other regulated environment.

  • A current DBS certificate is advantageous, although not essential.

Site Requirements

Due to the nature of the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment:

  • Candidates must be clean shaven, as facial hair is not permitted on site.

  • Candidates must be willing to wear the required PPE and follow all hygiene, GMP and Health & Safety procedures.
